Never one to rest, Vaid is now planning to compete in HK360Xtreme, which includes traveling across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and New Territories in a combination of swimming (45km), running (100km), and biking (215km). The triathlon will take place on Saturday, November 7th 2020 and is expected to take anywhere between 45 to 50 hours.
Through this 360 kilometre journey, Mayank expects to raise funds for local charitable causes through InspiringHK Sports Foundation and Outward Bound Hong Kong.
This journey started in 2019 when Daniel Vanderhave and Mayank Vaid wanted to do a tandem swim around HK Island. Donors were very kind to support the swim by donating +HK$49,000 to , Ocean Recovery Alliance. Big thanks to the donors.
Now Mayank is determined to finish what Daniel and Mayank started in 2019.
As a firm believer in the positive influence of sports on youth, Vaid is fundraising to support InspiringHK Sports Foundation and Outward Bound Hong Kong, two charities focused on helping youth development through sports. With the money provided, they will collaborate to provide underprivileged youth the opportunity to experience the joy of outdoor sports while also assisting local sports coaches and students affected by COVID-19 due to closure of sports grounds and classes.
Ocean Recovery Alliance will use the fund for cleaner Hong Kong waters.
In support of Vaid in his newest unique charity sporting event, Gustav Szabo, otherwise known as Szabotage, a well-known urban artist and designer, is auctioning an original artwork "Freestyle" to help raise funds for this cause. Here is a link to his work:
